To join EuroGIX
Becoming a member of EuroGIX presents many advantages for a company whose activity involves a great deal of information exchanges.
Indeed, the advantages are definite:
- Increase in regional information flow: for all the companies doing business locally, the exchanges of information can be done
through EuroGIX.
- Speed of outgoing flows: the redundancy of access to Internet promulgated by EuroGIX in addition of existing connections,
increases the number of access routes to information, and thus the exchanges speed.
- Notoriety: being a partner of EuroGIX is above all promoting regional Internet and to follow the Alsatian policy of development
of broadband Internet.
Of course, it is not given to all companies to connect to EuroGIX. The essential conditions to claim a membership with EuroGIX
are:
- Having a NAS (Number Autonomous System) number: you can get this NAS at the
RIPE-NCC.
You can consult the list of the companies having a NAS number on
their site www.ripe.net.
- Being a member of the ARIA (Association des Réseaux Internet en Alsace).
- Accepting access conditions of the EuroGIX service (document available here).
After signing and accepting the agreement, the Member will have to conform himself with the technical requirements of the
EuroGIX infrastructure. In order to do so, he must:
- Connect to the designated PoP at his own expense.
- Have a router at disposal at the EuroGIX premises.
- Sign the peering agreements with the other members.
The Member will then have access to the transit exchange with these partners, without additional cost except for the subscription
to the EuroGIX Grouping.
